The Knuckles Mountain Range is a UNESCO-listed wilderness of mist-covered peaks, dense cloud forests and remote traditional villages, named for its resemblance to a clenched fist. It offers some of Sri Lanka’s most rewarding and least-crowded trekking, with exceptional biodiversity including rare orchids and endemic birds. Its untouched trails appeal strongly to travellers seeking genuine highland adventure.
