The Dambulla Cave Temple is a UNESCO-listed complex of five interconnected caves housing centuries-old murals and statues carved directly into the living rock. Considered one of Asia’s best-preserved Buddhist sanctuaries, its painted ceilings and reclining Buddha images offer a glimpse into Sri Lanka’s religious art and devotional history. It remains an active site of worship today.
